A new chapter for the Silver Arcade

The Silver Arcade has always been known for housing local independent shops and is committed to staying true to this cause. This historic building in Leicester city centre is a grade II listed building which many locals will remember from their youth with fond memories as a place to hang out.

The arcade was originally leased to Thomas’s amusements for several decades and they turned it into sublet units. The lease was reclaimed and work commenced to restore the building to its former glory via a major refurbishment. Being a listed building restricted what works could be carried out and after numerous discussions and meetings a suitable design was approved with the support of the Leicestershire Civic Society and the Victorian Society. The result is a modern shopping environment where historical charm seamlessly blends with contemporary design.

From the re-opening in 2013 many retailers have moved on from the arcade but our wonderful deli, Bryter Moon (housed on our Cank Street entrance), remains today providing a variety of locally sourced products for gifts or personal use as well as being a delicious eatery.

We house an array of shops from hair and beauty salons, a tattoo artist, a 3D printer, resident DJ and a gaming shack to name but a few. We like to believe we have something for everyone!

Our vision is to build a strong community of like-minded businesses making the arcade a destination for those seeking unique and locally sourced goods and services.

We appreciate how hard it is for start-ups and any independent businesses which is why we have made affordable rents with a range of long and short term leases available.
